I referred to my PalmIII as "my computer's prehensile tail" because it mostly served as a screen for stuff my computer put on it, with no independent computing of it's own.
As I dealt with mobile computation after, through the Visor and iPaq and such, they were more and more their own device and less and less an appendage to my bigger computer.
Now, I have a bunch of stuff I downloaded with my phone that I want to put on my laptop, and I'm finding I can't mount my phone like a thumb drive like I had previously. Trying to figure everything out to do so with MTP now. If only I could program it on it (Tasker, IFTTT to the contrary), it'd be it's own device now.
