Remember talking to a Silicon Graphics guy about Linux on big computers. He talked about how there were gaps in the otherwise sequential serial number listings because those went to an agency that didn't exist.
He said that even asking questions at vendor presentations can be a security breech, so he'd present and at the end, someone would ask, "Can you tell us about ... integers?" Then he'd go back, hit everything he could think of, go as far as he thought he could think, and then the question would be "Can you tell us more about ... integers?"
Don't know what brought that to mind, but it makes me laugh.

This is close to the way I'm wanting to set my
life, but without getting into snark, I'd bet that this person doesn't share his house with anyone, because setting the lights like this would be a hindrance on the life of anyone who doesn't share his exact schedule.
I like this, but it sounds like the first chapter of a smart-house-kills-owner techno-horror novel, written by someone who doesn't.
He just mentioned a girlfriend acceptance factor, suo that implies that it somehow works with others.
Anyway, I'd love to afford his kit.

Don't stare! Today, the moon will pass in front of the sun, off-center, producing a partial solar eclipse visible in most of the United States. Remember, never look directly at the sun! Watch and learn more.

Thinking of Empire Strikes Back, and thinking it doesn't make sense.
If US is Empire, then Bush or Obama is the Emperor, and thus Vader is somewhere between Chief of Staff, Secretary of Defense, National Security Advisor. Death can rain down from the skies on his whim.
And we're supposed to be impressed that Boba Fett/Dog The Bounty Hunter got pulled into the story?

One thing I will say is thank you to +Jeremy Glasgow for fixing my cable. I'll have to work on or replace those 1' patch cables one of these days. How would I have bent the tips of 1/4" cables, anyway?

I have a CS3 that I never use because I have it set in "max-chicken-pickin'" with no attack and all sustain, and I find I rarely have use for that tone. Going to have to revisit it and find better settings. Thanks, Nick!

I've been saying for years that, when I was in CS, they changed the curriculum to make Statistics an elective, and I felt at the time I was dodging a bullet, but now I feel I shot myself in the foot. This video makes me think I'm more in the dodge category again.

I love "Little Wing" best when they play the first verse as a "head", as a nod to Jimi, then go off on their own trip. This is beautiful and I could stand a few more verses of it.

I present this post to remind you that personal opinion should not be mistaken for fact. The piece gets so much wrong about Ruby and Perl that it leaves me wondering whether Flash, Visual Basic.NET, or even Delphi might be doing better than I thought.
